More than 80 photographers – both professional and amateur – participated at the 2011 zenith Photo Award, going in different directions to find an approach to a question with many answers: What does Islam in Germany look like?
Marcel Mettelsiefen is a photojournalist and documentary filmmaker. He has been covering conflicts in Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq and Libya. His documentary Watani – My Homeland was nominated for the 2017 Academy Awards. Marcel Mettelsiefen is also a member of the editorial board of zenith Magazine and was Head of the Jury for the zenith Photo Award in 2011, 2013 and 2014.
Andreas Trampe is the Head of the Photography Department at German magazine Stern.
Bernd von Jutrczenka
Bernd von Jutrczenka has been worked as an editor of German newspapers Bild and Die Welt. Since 2013 he has been Chief Photography Correspondent at the German Press Agency (dpa).
Rolf Nobel is the founder of the Lumix Festival for Young Photojournalism and is a lecturer in photojournalism and documentary photography at Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Art.
Margot Klingsporn is the founder and director of the German photo agency Focus.
Ruth Eichhorn has been the director of photography of the GEO magazines from 1994 to 2015 and their editor-at-large until August 2016. She is a member of the UNICEF Photo of the Year jury.
